VAN GOGH SUNFLOWERS
Artists will examine the art of Vincent Van Gogh and create a portrait inspired by his famous sunflower painting. Students will leave with a 12” x 18” oil pastel masterpiece.

Bring the beach to the farm! Join us to create an under-the-sea world! Delve into the marine world with sand, shells and more with this multimedia art project. Fairies, watch out for the mermaids!

Come create an oil pastel resist inspired by famous artist Charlie Harper, best known for his highly stylized wildlife prints, posters and book illustrations. This fawn will be completed on 12” x 18” watercolor paper.

Magical fun in miniature form! Can you use the materials around you to build a fantasy world? These are small houses built from natural materials for fairies, gnomes and woodland creatures. Students will leave with a magical woodland escape for everyone to enjoy.

Based on a wonderful children’s book by the same name, come and make a magic wand. Who does not need a little magic in their lives? We will choose just the right stick, paint, glue, glitter, ribbon, yarn or natural elements to wind into these creations. Students will leave with an amazing bit of imagery.

Wing It: Art Class at the Farm
Students will look at the masterpiece Picasso's Rooster before drawing. We will sketch on black paper. I will teach how to layer and blend oil pastels. Oil pastels are an easy to use medium perfect for artists of all ages and skill levels. Students will leave with an 18x24 rooster oil pastel on construction paper.

Let's Rock: Art Class at the Farm
Are you ready to paint rocks but have no idea what to use? Would you like to understand the best products to use that have been tested by a tried-and-true rock painter? I will offer years of experience with art supplies as well as how to unleash your inner artist to create a paper weight, garden marker, present for a friend or simply a work of art. Learn different techniques on how to paint rocks. You will leave with a painted rock.

Let It Bee: Art Class at the Farm
A fun, easy overview of relief printing which makes use of readily available styrofoam meat and vegetable trays. Simple printing on paper will be done until we feel confident. After practicing we make a stamped image on a t-shirt. By the time you have finished your morning you will have a fashion statement made by YOU! Parents will need to supply a white cotton tee shirt in your child’s size. Students will leave with cool bee prints on paper and an artist hand designed t-shirt.

A makerspace is a DIY space for exploration where kids can gather to create, invent and learn. It's an active making-centered area. Students will be provided with a plethora of art materials to do whatever they would like. This class will focus on free exploration rather than a directed (step by step) lesson plan.

Learn the art of collage as we draw with scissors like artist Henri Matisse. Create compositions out of cut paper as we explore color and line while out in a bug’s playground, the farm! Students will leave with an 8X10 colorful canvas board collage.

All students in this class will develop a further understanding of painting and drawing techniques needed to create masterpieces. The subject will be pigs with wings. Students will leave with a painted 8X10 canvas board.
